About us.
Rich Durkin was a producer at Dancer Fitzgerald Sample working
on spots for P&G,Toyota,Wendy's ("Where's The Beef?")
"I was having a great time. I worked with a bunch of fun
people." However, I was looking for a change. Andy
Arkin had started Ice Tea in 1982. He was getting calls
for projects in which agency people wanted to explore this new
technique called computer animation. The problem was that
at the time many of the executions they were looking to do would
be better off being done in stop-motion, cel or live-action.
"Andy saw that there was a business here...directing people
to the right execution, whether we represented them or not.
He was looking to expand and I was doing most of the animated
spots for the agency...so he asked me to come on board.
We worked together for 3 years. He was approached by R.
Greenberg & Assoc. to help run that company. The deal
was he couldn't keep his interest in Ice Tea. So he sold the company
to me in 1989."
"I have kept that same approach of directing people to the
right solutions ever since", said Durkin.
For Advertising Agency Producers and Creatives:
We are about finding them new possibilities by showing them animation
styles from directors that have never been seen before....and
that is a tall order to fill.
For Animation Companies and their Directors:
We are about partnering in their business. Helping them understand
how the market perceives them....showing them where the opportunities
are...and together plotting a course to get there....but most
of all having some fun along the way.
Where does Ice Tea want to be in 5 years?
We all know that advertising is changing. The way advertisers
will reach consumers will be very different. We want to
be representing directors that are part of the change....not chasing
after it.
